How to stun Ronald McDonald into silence

This is just too funny not to share. I was doing an internet search for a person who had a live children’s show on TV where I grew up and ran into the story below which is hilarious. I got several other hits from what appear to be unrelated people who witnessed the exact same episode on TV, so it appears to be true (I either forgot this happening or did not watch this episode of this show).

Maybe I should have picked one of the other websites that had the story that appear more credible on first blush, like the woman author who added details regarding her mom talking to her after watching the show and Barney applying for a job at a restaurant she worked at.

In any event, the conspiracy stuff on that web site comes off as tongue in cheek.

Except of course the story at the link is completely differant in its entirety and even the tag line to the story is not the same as any of the ones given in Snopes.

This is the link I should have originally used but it does not put the entire story in one place and you have to piece it together unlike the link I used.

To summarize what is at the below link the writer, when she is a little girl sees the "Eat it Clown" episode (she and everyone in the post use the exact same phrase as in the other blog). She just mentions the Eat it Clown part and that her mom says "A bad, bad boy made a joke and you’re not allowed to do that. . . "

Now, common sense tells me that she may not recall the dirty joke because it went over her head and if you start reading the comments someone else mentions (and if you google her name and take into account the bio of the person who maintains the blog she appears to be a reporter at the Akron Beacon Journal) that she saw that show and that her and her brother still laugh about "Eat it Clown".

Months and months later some guy, as near as I can tell this guy:

My recollection was of Ronald Mc Donald asking a 5 yr.old boy if he had a joke to tell. The boy responded,"Sure, Why is a Woman and a Frying Pan alike?" Ronald replied," I don't know. Why?" The boy than said," Because you have to get'em both Hot before you put the Meat in!" Ronald, obviously stunned, said," That wasn't a very nice joke." That's when The 5 Year Old topped it all with "EAT IT CLOWN!"
That happened 40 years ago...and the Legend Lives On!!!

To the extent each person recalls the story their recollection is the same as the others, the only differance is for the two girls not recalling (understanding) the "meat" part of the joke.

I wonder it that is where the whole thing got started that Snopes refers to?
