kid wants it. is wifi enough or do we really need 3G? downloading concerns? He'll just use it to read books.:confused:

Bought my wife one last year. The 3G version is great if you're taking a long trip to India and won't have any other connection to the rest of the world; otherwise the wifi version is just fine.

Browse and download at home, read wherever else you go. Pretty easy.

Mine has 3G but I never use it. I always have plenty of books queued up.

I'll add: 3G might be useful if you subscribe to newspapers or magazines through the Kindle and you frequently don't have access to wifi.
