For the Documerica Project (1971-1977), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hired freelance photographers to capture images relating to environmental problems, EPA activities, and everyday life in the 1970s.

The first one I clicked on was David Falconer, and I was delighted to see that he was shooting a lot around Portland. Interesting to see home as I remember it as a kid - paper mills, big cars, no gas. And a lot of crap lying around. Which is interesting, because if you were to litter in Portland now you would probably end up getting flogged in the middle of Pioneer Courthouse Square.:cool:
