y'know, that new car they have planned isn't too bad looking, at least compared to the Scrubbing Bubble.

I have to admit a little bit of admiration for IMS for not feeling that it is good enough to half ass something when they can 1/4 or 1/8th ass something.

Dude, that is a 1/16th ass if I ever saw one. Don't cut those idiots short.

Let's see, 1/16 = .0625. Ratings wise, that's aboot right for the hapless :gomer: at 16th and Jonestown.

As for the new GrandSham chassis, only marginally less :yuck: inducing.

I would like to say what a bunch of fooking morons. But that would be an insult to morons everywhere.

The crowd watching the scrubbing bubbles at Indy make the pole day crowd look good.

You'd think it would be hard for them to be uglier, but after the new mindycar ....

Timing is everything, here's your chance to find out...

Please join us at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 15 for an exciting announcement from Chevrolet and GRAND-AM.

GRAND-AM.com will have live streaming of a press conference at Daytona International Speedway that will unveil plans for Chevrolet's 2012 Daytona Prototype program.

You would think that they would have the car at the presser.

Its alright. Definitely an improvement but they're still pigs on the track. I say put the engines from Sprint Cup in them, open up the bodywork regulations and call it the new Can Am.

I checked out Grand Am Mid Ohio once. Only once. The race literally bored me so bad I almost fell asleep. Never went again.

New Grand Am regulations also call for a more upright nose and a higher tail to give the car a dramatic shape.

Wut the? Dramatic shape?

It's all about the marketing, not the product.

Personally I think anyone engaged in the practice called "marketing" should be shot.

I will admit that drawing is FAR less horrible than what they are currently putting out there.

And do you not "market" wine and beer for a living?

I'll admit, the Corvette body kit actually looks pretty good.

So this the GrandAm version of the ICONIC committee prophacy?

cameraman
11-15-11, 10:30 PM
Chevorlet designed the body and they built it so that it can be used with the Coyote, Dallara or Riley chassis. I'm guessing that Coyote, Dallara & Riley also make their own bodies plus who knows who else.

One other car that recently hit the track is a Ferrari 458 Italia built to run next year which I think is the first factory Ferrari for this current version of Grand Am.

Looks like a Corvette got together with a Saleen and had a morbidly obese baby.

What they need are Peugeot, Lola, Audi and AMR body kits. :gomer:

Slap a black and silver kit on the ChebbyCar with GOODWRENCH plastered all over it, throw on a #3, hire LittleDale and Doc Bundy then start counting the dozens at the turnstiles! ( is Doc's 3-wide attempt in T-1 @ Riverside still out there in video land? Not a recommended move, as I recall:eek:)

I predict an Earnhardt the Lesser DP run would work out about as well as his last "Corvette" race weekend did.

I was there that day...the wreckage from that accident looked horrendous...I am still amazed that they all walked away from that one...

Speaking of Jr's last Corvette race...wasn't that near disaster ultimately blamed on a pit crew screw-up involving something to do with the fuel system? That car should NEVER have lit up like that!

No, no...that's not what I meant. He screwed up just fine, no question there. He didn't blame anyone for wrecking but the dang thing just lit up up like it was 1968. I guess my point was if he was put in a Corvette Rolex seat IN the Rolex @ Daytoner some people might think that was a great marketing move. :gomer: I mean, it's not like he's Danica or anything but...?
