Just a little food for thought:

60' wide track, 20 deg banking, 3' wall requires a car to launch 21.7' into the air to clear the wall from the bottom of the banking.

To put it into perspective. Imagine Yao Ming standing on the top of a NBA regulation sized backboard. Wheldon's car would have cleared him by a little over 1'.

That is why my hate will never go away. The Csuckers knew the car flew and did nothing.

Mebbe they can race backwards and have a big jump or a loop de loop or maybe glow in the darks cars or all the drivers be necked or have a water feature or a hole in one special? How about a 2 fer one tickets or bring a canned good for a dollar off or a free dog wash or a free hot dog with your purchase of any dessert or a AARP discount or a clown that gives away free balloons?

I don't know Vegas so commercially I don't know if it did anything like it was suppose to do for that end of town, but I guess that is another consideration. That's the older, more tired end of the strip? It's doldrums with bring the race down or the race brings it up? Don't know how to make the call.

Do NOT need to go back to the oval. I thought it was an OK oval before they screwed it up.

As street courses come & go the Vegas race was actually a decent race, it is just the whole ftg thing that I just find depressing.

FTG!

I thought the casinos said never again after the Champ Car race caused access problems for their customers.

The earl won't have as many customers to block access.

(CC attendance wasn't very good either. Not as bad as rosco thinks, but not very good.)

I think the accessibility problem was blown out of size by a few people who wanted CC to fail. We were there and enjoyed it.

One month today. :(

Items are still being posted daily on the Dan Wheldon auction site. If your pocketbook doesn't stretch to $22,000 for a helmet, there are still lots of other things. Dando, there's a signed Mariano Rivera picture. Dan Uggla signed baseball. Craig Biggio bat. Things stay for a several days and then drop off--to be replaced by more items.

I changed my FB profile picture back to the original one today from the DW painting I had used for the last month but I did it with a heavy heart.
