I've only known two Normans and I disliked them both.

In Jersey, it is important that Columbus wasn't Anglo or Saxon but ITALIAN!

We had pasta for dinner last night...

... because it was left over. :D

Emmo had extended soccer practice last night. I stopped across the street for a slice of pizza only to find the place dark. "Closed for Columbus Day"

Nope, but the immigrants that move to the UK, sign up for benefits as soon as they're through H.M Customs, demand that the local butchers only serve halal meat, demand that they can put up mosques anywhere they want and if anyone complains their human rights are being violated, and then actively campaign against "the infidel" have a 'hate the anglo day'...it's called "everyday of the week"...

And if you suggest that if the country/society that they came from was as bloody fantastic as they say it is, then maybe they should consider ****ing off back there, you are called a racist...

I swear, everytime I go back home and go to the local market with my mum I am almost surprised when I hear English being spoken anymore...

That entire rant sounds very familiar ... are you sure you don't hail from California instead of England? :)

That rant is so familiar, I hear it all the time from the Poms who have given up and moved to Oz.

The only trouble is, they have brought some very silly ideas with them.

Sounds like what I see and hear when I make the trip back to civilisation (Sydney) from the outskirts of normality (Adelaide).

Also sounds a lot like what New Yorkers said about the Irish and Italians and Greeks and Slavs who showed up in the 19th century. Or Californians and other Westerners about the Chinese.

Jus' Sayin' ;)

Not sayin' it wasn't messy either.

It's what the pre-1980 Utahns say about the Californians that have invaded the state. Also everyone south of AZ but that is a different and distinctly more hostile conversation...

Anyway you look at it the population of the Salt Lake Valley has more than doubled in the past 30 years.

The resentment of New Yorkers here in FL is open and hostile. Its a daily topic in the 'letters to the editor' section of the paper.

Except they send us their pollution and medical waste and expect us to pay their taxes and expect NJ to just be grateful for their sports teams. :gomer:

In FL my understanding that Floridians expect New Yorkers, snow birds and latecomers to pay taxes for your infrastructure and new development (i.e., jobs) Seem a bit much to have to also put up with old folks from Long Island driving slow in the left lane. ;)

This is what I love about Ohio. Nobody from elsewhere really wants to live here. :p

Sounds like my hometown, except the language is Spanish. It's truly a shock to see what happened to the town I once knew....and it's not for the better.

This is what I love about Ohio. Nobody from elsewhere really wants to live here. :pI went to my cousin's wedding a few years ago. He married a very nice young woman from an rural area south of Cleveland.

I was at the rehearsal dinner seated with her father. Their family name is Frankenheimer (or something like that). Trying to break the ice, I asked if his family name was German.

He looked at me with this puzzled look on his face and said with complete seriousness, "No, we're from Ohio" :)
