AUSTIN (KXAN) - The outdoor temperature reached a blistering 112 degrees just before 2:30 p.m. in Austin on Sunday, which tied the record for the hottest day ever in the city.

I think our A/C power consumption this summer would meet and exceed the annual demand for certain small island nations.

it's 109F in the shade outside at 5:40pm. sigh.

Beginning to think the same thing here. Of course, "It's not humid" so 103 is really nothing at all.

I had to laugh when a tour operator asked me if I thought it would be too hot in Taiwan next month. 85 degrees expected. I'll have to bring a sweater.

As far as Taiwan is concerned, the only precipitation you need to worry about are ChiCom SRBMs...

We've been setting records here in Houston as well. We finally had one day this past week that didn't go above 100. First time all month.
