So the latest and greatest idea in F1 has been to tweak the heck out of the exhaust systems you allow the cars to use the gasses to increase downforce during cornering. Well the scum that are the FIA just banned it because it was actually making the racing interesting.:flame:

The FIA will be the death of racing:shakehead

Why not handle it like the double diffuser issue?

Ban the exhaust for next year, but allow the teams to continue using it this year. Once the season has started, the rules should not change.

Red Bull might suffer, but Renault is fubar'd.

The FIA is becoming more and more like NASCAR everyday. It would seem that they are deathly afraid that Vettel and Red Bull will waltz away with this season.

FIA changed its mind about altering the regs for Spain. However, blown diffusers weren't being banned. The FIA is (or was, depending on if they still clarify the rules for a later race) banning the use of clever engine mapping that kept the throttle at 100% even when braking to keep a steady flow of exhaust for an aerodynamic advantage (aka, "off-throttle blown diffusers"). FIA clarified that the throttle could be used only to increase torque and not as an aerodynamic advantage. Therefore, blown diffusers ok, off-throttle diffusers not ok.

In any case, it may be moot because they changed their mind. But I agree, much like the double diffuser they should just be banned for next season unless there's some kind of serious safety risk.
