Plus, they will find a way to manipulate it to help the red cars.

My goodness, now jokes are becoming real ideas? Aside from the fact that the GPDA would never agree, this is stupid.

Is it really that hard to understand the difference between 20-30 years ago and now is the aero? Shift the focus to mechanical grip and make aero as little of a factor as possible.

You can make the cars harder to drive in non-bogus ways. Make it pointless to put a car in a wind tunnel 24x7x365 and open up the engines, gearbox, brakes, etc. Also get some more tire manufacturers.

I really think this year is going to have some major problems. They are talking about needing 3 or 4 stops to finish a race due to tire degradation. That mean the track will be just covered in clag after a couple of laps and by the middle of the race there will be one clear line and no one will be able to leave it.

Maybe they can use the hoses to wash off the clag:shakehead

You know what would make the on-track action REALLY exciting? Artificial oildown race! It would be just like if someone blew an engine, except at specific intervals during the race, distributed from sprinklers around the track.

Maybe Bernie'd be interested in a street race using Virginia's Smart Road.

A portion of the Smart Road is equipped with 75 weather-making towers. Each tower can rotate 360 degrees and tilt up and down to handle changing wind conditions. Researchers can make it rain -- from a drizzle to a raging downpour. With correct ambient conditions, the towers can even produce snow -- from a light dusting of powder to up to 4 inches per hour. A layer of ice can be created on the pavement to study the best systems for de-icing and anti-icing.

Eccel-tastic! :gomer:

Discuss? I'd say Bernie has been reading the Off Camber forums! We introduce the best ideas here FIRST! This is old news. Hell, why limit it to water or oil...get the fans involved throwing glass bottles onto the track! Not directly at the cars, you understand, that would be just ridiculous. Someone could get hurt. Nothing like a little glass on the line in a high speed sweeper to liven things up!:gomer:

If you're going to screw with the race, just institute an inverted grid. Yeah, it's crazy, but at least it brings back an element of strategy. Q3 would be a cross between a chess match and a poker game.

They can make F1 as artificial as they like, they can reverse the grids, throw a pace car every 5 laps, whatever, it does not fix the underlying problems. These people are clueless.

GOSH! Some of the F-1 drivers are saying this isn't such a good idea. Guess they don't care about the "show". The "F-1 Circus" will finally live up to it's name!:p

I'm just picturing Webber with his head in his hands thinking, "Do I really HAVE to say something about this nonsense?"

nothing says arrogance like using up water in a middle eastern country for the sole purpose of spicing up a car race...
