Driver Tony Kanaan no longer has an IZOD IndyCar series ride. The 2004 IRL Indy PepBoys Northern Lights Ace Tool Rentals Champion is known far and wide as "Danica's Teammate" will now resort to crying like his Brazilian breathern.
Kanaan spoke with Crack reporter Tippy Gomez while on break from a whirlwind night of Clubbing with Mari Hulman George. It was thought Kanaan had the upcoming 2011 deal sewn up with Gil de Ferran's Dragon Racing. Speaking from a phone booth outside Cactus Jacks on Terre Haute's South Side, Kannan expressed deep remorse for leaving Michael Andretti's Honda Racing Team.
"I tell chu what Tippy, day been talking aybout hard times wit day aconomie, but I nevers dreamed a former Champion would be treated like dis," said Kannan, choking back tears. "I was supposed to have Shitpavia Beer, thats from my country Brazil, Brazil you know Tippy, but that damn Helio stole that away from me." Refering to a personal sponsor his fellow countyman recently acquired.
"Now it comes to dis, I am out dancing with Mari in hopes of getting maimed, which might not be so bad because Mari keeps asking me how long can I hold my breath. She says big nose guys usually know how to liquor."
"It has bean berry nice to hear from some of de other guys who have bean so richardly rewarded by day series" says Tony. "Guys like Buddy Rice, Sam Hornish, Dan Wheldon have all given me a call. Most of them are just trying to figure out how much dough I have so they can put a little more in the envelope before they send it to Dale Coyne or Robbie Buhl.
Kannan might just hold onto his money in hopes to rent a car from one of the two teams competing in this upcoming season. He said that if things get to bad he could just pool his resorces and either rent a car off Chip or Rodger for the big casino race planned for later this season in Las Vegas
