59 Cars, including 25 in GT(2). Enjoy it while you can, folks.

No kidding. What do we subtract from 59 once the checker falls? Looks like the TBD for Peugeot should be Bourdais as there is no conflict with open wheel?

No kidding. What do we subtract from 59 once the checker falls?

A lot. Unless the stars align and everything that's been rumored, wished and hoped for comes through, 3 prototype classes will barely get them into double digits.

Hopefully GT will be stellar enough to salvage things.

At least Audi is showing up this year.

Is the R18 really not ready, or is Audi sandbagging to confuse Peugeot?

Just push the leather recliner over close to your new 24" HD monitor, put in the ear buds and pretend you are sitting in the back of a pickup in sunny Florida!:gomer: (helps if you are drinking...a lot.) PS...throw on your old 33.3 of the '58 or '59 "Sounds of Sebring" album. Those V-12 250TRs sound better than anything out there these days! Enjoy.

looking forward to my first trip in three years.
I think there is a tape delayed highlights show the next day on abc.

Live option:
ESPN3.com from 10a.m.-11p.m. ET
Saturday, March 19

Tape delay option:
ABC from 12:30-2 p.m. ET,
Sunday, March 20

Is ABC going to hire the SpeedTV announcing crew, or do we get the IndyCar superstars?

Does it even matter? By the time they cram in a Patron Cup recap, Porsche feature, cub reporter segment and requisite time-buy-grade adverts, there's only going to be 30-odd minutes of actual racing shown.

I think they're sandbagging, so they don't get "performance balanced" for Le Mans.

Well its in a few days, and if this doesn't get you psyched up for it, nothing will. This was honestly one of the best finishes to a race I have EVER seen.

Not thrilled about the whole EPSN3 thing, but I will give it a try.

I picked up a new HMDI cable from Woot last month - will see how the laptop looks on the big screen. Hopefully the wireless connection stays smooth.

Oh great Trevor. Your embed didn't work. At least for me in the UK tonight.

Dando incoming!!!

We won't tell him how much the locals hate "bennies" down the Shore when he is there every summer. ;)

I'm looking forward to Sebring. And I am still angling for work to transport me to Melbourne, Montreal or UK for f1 races. :D

Meanwhile there was slight confusion in #Sebring earlier when I was sure i spotted an F1 Ferrari in the car park…

Have to say I'm very pleased with the ESPN3 deal. Full screen, HD (don't have an internet connectable big screen yet, but this certainly made up my mind!) Peugeot, Audi, Peugeot, Audi, Peugeot qualified in the top 5.:D SURPRISE! I really like Johnny O'Connell behind the mic. Very enthusiastic and gives insight only a driver can give. Let the season begin!

Well the stupid people at the ALMS finally got the information correct on the web broadcast;
Join us on starting at 10:15 a.m. ET for a special pre-race show on ESPN3.com in the US and americanlemans.com for international viewers.

So I guess I'm not watching any races this year. These *******s are as bad as the NFL. When are these stupid ****wits going to clue in that they are doing themselves no favors when they sign up with a broadcaster that is only available to less than 10% of the population.

Gnam
03-18-11, 07:47 PM
What about Radio Le Mans or Sirius/XM Radio, are they available?

cameraman
03-18-11, 07:58 PM
Don't know about Sirius but ALMS Radio is available during the race. I believe they have Jeremy Shaw for that.
Live timing & scoring too.

I "hacked" in and created a fake AT+T account and a fake ESPN3 account and now I have ESPN3 available to me. Its actually very simple and easy to do. I got the instructions from a guy on the ALMS fan forum so I can PM them to anyone who wants to watch the race tomorrow without resorting to a dumbed down, condensed version on TV.

Edit: whoops this is Trevor. Forgot to log my dad out...

Gotta say I was really pulling for Highcroft there at the end but they certainly didn't embarrass themselves and one slip up by the oreca would have given it to them. Though I cant feel to bad because Oreca really deserved this one and the look on the team boss's face at the end was nice to see. Well done to BMW too. They were easily the class of the field in a very competitive class.

AWESOME RACE!!!

Good on the old Pug, but KUDOS to the LMP2 and GT winners as well!

Joey Hand and the BMW team performed brilliantly, and the LMP2 winning lineup included Luis Diaz (both have always been faithful to the CART/CCWS ladder..never went EARLing). These two have been our friends since before off camber's inception, and they will continue to be so no matter who they drive for in any series exzcept the leeg.

I'll give good marks to ESPN3 on the coverage...everything EXCEPT the Michelin commercial(s)! there are only so many times I can see that and not get sick over a 12 hour webcast! I am on a backup system (XP2100+, 1gb, 256mb GT6200LE) but the streaming wasn't bad even with net traffic.. No freezeups and when the video got sketchy it was probably the machine and not the broadcast.

"ok officer...I'll come quietly"...

I have to give kudos to the kid for figuring out how to hack into the broadcast. :D

EPSN3 even has a few other things I might want to watch.

Funny thing about endurance races. I always have a little regret when they are over. I don't want them to end. So much drama seems to play out over the hours and hours.

www.espn3.com is loads of fun; I watch soccer on it all the time. I even watched the Indy 500 last year on it (not live).

I am very glad that the ORECA Peugeot beat the factory cars. The French boys did an awesome job; just wondering why Panis did so little driving?
