Thanks so much for the kind birthday wishes, everyone! It was everything that I could wish for in a birthday: greetings from friends, a nice dinner with family, and thoughtful gifts. :)

That wish gave me a good laugh! My birthday was blissfully free of ants after last week’s disaster. We had torrential rain in So. Cal.; the ants living near my house decided to move in where it’s warm and dry. For 3 solid days before Christmas, I battled armies of ants in my kitchen, living room, and garage. As I went about diminishing their numbers with a shop vac, I pondered the appropriateness of my screen name. :D

Sounds like my spring & summer...fighting infestations of sugar and acrobat ants. One set would leave and the other would return, repeat... :irked:

I've found that the bait traps work well on the sugar ants (probably really pavement ants). It takes a couple of days but wipes out the colony. For acrobat ants you might try a tiny trapeze with spikes underneath.
