OK, now let's flip the equation: Let Dorian's brother shoe the car at Seca or better yet, Spa (with a bit of chassis tuning, of course).

Pardon my bias, but Marino is the better driver in the family (and gets to drive his FIL's "big cars" a few times a year). I think that frequent exposure to a less-managed beast might be beneficial coming out of a 30mph corner.

YMMV.

Really cool. He's right they are really pretty cars. Look fast standing still.

My favorite Indy car of all time, absolutely beautiful with clean lines, driven by one of the greats. No wings, fins, diffusers single or double, attenuators, pop off valves,Gurney flaps ( ironically), barge boards, F-ducts, and telemetry was a chalk board.

It was cars like the Lotus 38 that got me interested in single-seater racing as a kid.

Here's a contemporary Lola.

I'd pay money to see a field of those run a 200 mile race at Road America.

Remember that idea we discussed once? That was pretty much it.

I would pay good money to see a retro series with a field that included Huffakers, Lightnings, Eiserts, Brabhams, McLarens and all the other RE Indycars from the pre big wing years. With modern construction and safety practices it could be really fun to watch on roads, streets, airports, and ovals.

So 2 weeks ago my TV blows up so I replace it with a 48 inch HDTV. A couple of days ago I bought a blue ray player that using wireless can tap into my internet feed and stream Netflix, Youtube, etc which I set up this morning. So I go to test the streaming and get to thinking "what could I possibly test this with" then remembered this thread.

That car is even awesomer on the big screen.
