Was just checking my DirecTv guide and it says Edmonton Sunday afternoon.

Hadn't heard a damn thing anywhere....not even here!

Where's the Foytility?

Buncha Germans and a few Bazillions running into each other in the Fatherland GP. Delayed on the Facist Network. Don'tknow about anything in Canuckinstan, but there is a cab wall banger at Indynapolis.

Flipped the TV on after cutting the grass (for the first time in about 5 weeks).

It was just in time to hear Jack A-Root saying "A team member told me off the record that... blah blah." Off the record, eh Jack? Nice standards there.

Looks like the Park Milka campaign is gaining momentum as the league has placed her on double secret probation (http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/racing/indycar/news/story?id=5407532)through the end of the year.

I don't watch it so I don't know. How does Milka stack up against the Shiggy as a menace on the track? Sounds like tolerating her just to put a 25th car on the track is outright negligence. But then the IRL has a long tradition of ridiculously unqualified drivers.

How does Milka stack up against the Shiggy as a menace on the track?

From 7/23...

IndyCar racers criticize driving of Milka Duno as menacingly unpredictable (http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/autoracing/indycar-racers-criticize-driving-of-milka-duno-as-menacingly-unpredictable-99136614.html)

apparently the only drawmer is the next episode in "The Case of the Disappearing Grandstands"

Will Power and Ryan Briscoe, the two fastest drivers in practice for the Honda Indy Edmonton Friday, were dumbfounded when they took their first trips around the track.

What happened to the stands in Turn 1?

Where did they go?

Those stands, both maintain, gave the place a big part of its fabulous flavour, not just for the fans but for the drivers.

It just felt great driving into that colourful crowd before taking that first turn.

“I thought it was very unusual. I was disappointed,” said defending Honda Indy Edmonton champion Will Power, who was fastest on the day as he began his quest to win his third consecutive race of the season Sunday.

“Why did they take them away?” he asked. “I couldn’t understand why they would.

“To me it’s very disappointing. That’s the most exciting corner! I always thought that stand was pretty cool.

“It was a pretty high stand. It’s on Turn 1 at the start of the race where all the passing happens!”

Briscoe was willing to start a petition to return the stand.

“You never like to see grandstands disappearing.”

photographic evidence proves they realy needed those stands

Speaking of ads, has anyone seen the late-night mega infomercial starring (who MUST be) porno queens in pit bunny outfits at California Speedway setting up the "NASCAR/IndyCar 5-lap shootout"? EXTENZ, with dozens of couples interviews that I was FORCED to watch while waiting for the big race! The Indycar was driven by some Hawaiian named Leilani or something and sure enough she "finished first" and "on top." It was hilarious. Must have heard "size matters" about 37 times, but the little car won!?

Just SUPER...Brainfart bumps Helio from 1st to 10th on the final restart...for blocking. Kinda looked like he was passing power on the inside @ T-1, but I guess there's an imaginary rule against that. HCN wouldn't answer the black flag (just 2 laps left) so he got sent back in the final standings. IRL Trivia: Who is the only driver to win a race without leading a single lap? SCOTT DIXON! Helio went berserk, throwing things, grabbing officials (big black guy... could have squashed him like a bug, looked like he laughed at him instead!) Over at SPEED 91% say it was a bogus call, but I think 147% said it was OK to give Milkers "probation." What a ZOO.

07-25-10, 10:17 PM
I didn't watch, but I was told that Will Power even said Helio blocked him. I'll take Will's word for it. It seems as if Helio has been showing more of his true colors since he won his tax evasion case.

what I absolutely love about this is that the Speed Report mentioned ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING ELSE that happened on Sunday before the IRL. It was DFL on the list of priorities, even WITH a controversy. Unbelievable.

Elmo T
07-26-10, 03:14 PM
As blocking goes, it was fairly mild - but he was clearly off the racing line. PT says on Twitter that the drivers were told prior that over the white line would be out of bounds on the straight. That makes more sense to me than a blocking penalty.

This blocking stuff is like the F1 team orders. Everyone does it up to the point that they get caught or called out on it.

Yup, lanes. Who knew? Road racing according to Brainfart. It's become clear over the years that in his mind all manner of things exist that remain unseen to the rest of us. :gomer: While wearing the former Emperor's not so new hand-me-down clothes he looks to his inner weasel self then holds forth and issues a great edict. His subjects look puzzled but always comply because he is the great Brainfart. :tony:
