This weekend at NHIS in the Nationwide series.

Patrick 'nervous' about return (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/84695)

Despite doing some NASCAR testing recently at Milwaukee in preparation for her race return, she admits to being uncertain as to what to expect from switching between such different cars over the next few weeks...

"I'm nervous because it's new and there's so much to learn about the way a race goes, how the race kind of plays out normally, and the yellow flags and the pitstops and how the car changes over a fuel run and how the tires change," said Patrick. "And there's just so much that I'm unfamiliar with.

"And so that makes me nervous because I care and I want to do well. And I'm not going to know it all the first time I go there, but I hope to do a good job. So I know that people are watching and I want to put on a good show for the fans. I want to give them a reason to cheer for me.

"So I just want to do well. So I'm just nervous for that, as it's all very unfamiliar."

Following a string of good results in her last three IndyCar races, scoring top 10 finishes at Indy, Texas and Iowa, Patrick is targeting a top 20 finish on her NASCAR return, something she hopes to be able to build on in future outings.

Just wait until the NASCAR garage and the fans see her true personality rear up when the going gets tough and she meets the wall in a 3300 lb car that doesn't dissipate much energy with suspension and sidepods when it hits:

I was reading this (http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/indycar-simona-de-silvestro-another-box-checked-on-the-dont-list/) and pondering the differences between Simona and the princess.

I came into the pits and I was not able to get the car really turned into my box and I ended up sliding into Brett, my rear tyre guy; it was scary as he went down and I even damaged the nose. It all happened so fast. I was completely worried about him and was hoping that he would not be seriously hurt.

I am so sorry about that whole incident and felt really bad for my team. I just got caught off with a lot of circumstances and came up short. It was my fault and I made a big mistake. The entire nature of our race had just changed.

So who is the more mature racing driver?

What does she have to be nervous about? If she doesn't do well, it's all the crew's fault, right?

Her Sparkleponiness was given a $1,000 pair of YSL heels from the GM of NHMS (http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/cup/columns/story?columnist=blount_terry&id=5328185)as a welcome gift.

Seriously?!

NASCAR writer Jeff Gluck transcribed DP's radio feed on his Twitter account (http://twitter.com/jeff_gluck) this afternoon. It's not pretty.

Crew chief Tony Eury Jr. explains that driver was trying to get her loose so he could pass. Danica: "So that's like a technique?"

This takes "rookie" to a whole new level, folks. Danica asks team about passing: "How do I set him up?"

Permapout is clearly missing some basic knowledge about NASCAR racin' and rubbin' that anybody who watches the stuff on TV more than once should have easily picked up.

It's what happens when you're more focused on personal appearances that racing. Did she ever think maybe it would be a good idea to watch some races, study some video footage and maybe get some more seat time in an ARCA sled...? Good god, anything that would help her get used to heavy low traction cars where there is a lot of fender banging would help. Instead she waits until she is on the track in a race to discover what happens....? Hard to feel sorry for her even a little bit.

And here's (http://www.sbnation.com/2010/6/26/1539164/danica-patrick-nascar-new-hampshire-nationwide-2010) his article about her race.
