After a one car Nationwide test at RA the tickets are selling like hotbrats and he's not worried about hitting a deer or two. (I HAVE to go in June to see if they take The Kink flat. Plus Princess will be there and who the HELL would want to miss THAT!? Anyone have a pink NASCAB t-shirt they can send me?)

Mandatory Canada Corner viewing for those pigs. That's where they will run out of brakes and talent. Should be a real waddemup.

Couldn't be any worse than the A & B-production race at the Sprints in the early/mid '60s. Fiberglass carnage! Thompson and Yenko were usually out ahead of it as the rest over-tried to catch up! (remember I was VERY young and easily impressed:))...sorry, I just guessed the Girl would be there, maybe not.

C'mon TB and Grungie, we can DO it. Just think, NASCAR at RA! 3500lbs. of American hi-tech carburated muscle charging up the hill to 6, side-by-side through The Kink, rubbin' and racin' through Thunder Valley, REAL pit stops for God's sake...and FRIED CHICKEN at Siebkens! The possibilities are endless! You bring a Gatorade cooler of Vodka-Lemonades and who knows, those Nationwide hot rods may look like F-1 at Spa ...to us. Maybe? Anyway, you can forget about hangin' inside turn 3 at The Mile.:(

Steve, Boris was merely remarking on the much greater protection a stock car provides in the event of a deer strike as opposed to what could happen with an openwheeler. BELIEVE me, he knows and is sensitive to what happened to Cris and was not being flippant. I guess I was.

Is Boris even going to be there? or will he get hired to run Sonoma.

Sprint cars are in Cali that weekend.

latest on RA- "As far as NASCAR is concerned, full-time double-duty drivers Paul Menard, Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski all are expected to make the commute to and from Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., site of the Sprint Cup race that weekend. Whether any others -- say, Kevin Harvick or Kyle Busch -- might decide to come, "it's still a little too early to tell," Balash said. Bruggenthies said he'd like to work on trying to lure Matt Kenseth, the Wisconsin racing promoter's guaranteed draw."

Hey Bruggenthies, instead of worrying about who will drive in your s***** Cab Lite race , crack open your wallet and buy some ****ing Jumbotrons.

Your's always,

Yes he is around and still sporting the best hair in motor racing, much to the chagrin of Jimmy Spencer who covets the crown.

inside 5, Canada, outside carousel between 10 and 11, outside 14 so it's visible from both hills. That would cover most of the track.

Outside 14 visible from both hills!? That'd have to be an I-Max wouldn't it?:) At least a Gigantatron!

FWIW I do actually manage to enjoy Nascar at the Glen every year. You can only do so much harm to a great setting/track.

But I would not make the 2 day drive to RA as I used to for CART.

No. A couple of poles on road courses, a fist full of top 10 finishes, and a pickemup truck win at Sonoma...

Said's pushing 50 now. Maybe he is looking for a Mark Martin - like career revival. :p

Villeneuve will be also be there. Should be fun!

Braun Racing is pleased to announce that former Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will drive the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota in the upcoming NASCAR Nationwide Series' inaugural event at Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin) and at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.

Didn't attend as I had threatened:D but I did watch. Sure, lots of yellows, lots of "offs" bumpin' and rubbin' but, c'mon it was a whole track full of stock cars and a talent field that just wasn't that deep. I was impressed by several things. First, the crowd. This event was WELL attended when compared to any recent RA races and I'd guess it was a financial success. Secondly the racing up front was very good. I don't see how anyone could not be impressed especially by Edwards and JV. JVs' pass, 3 wide into Canada corner:eek: was VERY entertaining, as was his pass for the lead going into 5. He is still an extremely talented driver despite his unpopularity here. He certainly had a "top 2" car today and only a cruel VERY late mechanical problem prevented that. I also smiled at the film footage of the '56 NASCAR race there. I had never seen it before. Wow, what a different landscape then! Oh, yeah...and Paul Menard is an idiot! Anyone hear any lap times? Were the Trans Am cars faster? ( edit: Tony Ave, new TA pole @ 2:05.066. He did GREAT in Nationwide also) My guess is they were pretty slow. All relative, I suppose. Trans Ams at Autobahn at the end of July. Looking forward to 7 series of good old road racing there again this year.:)

It took forever to find, but they were running around 2:15 in practice. Can't find actual qualifying results.

I have no idea what the last iteration of Trans Am was running in regards to lap times.

Pole was "134.838 seconds (http://nationwide.nascar.com/nationwide-series/2010/news/headlines/bg/06/19/cedwards.pole.road.america)" - I guess NASCAR fans can't handle hearing lap times in minutes?

Trans Am is running there this weekend too (http://www.sccatrans-am.com/article.php?ID=1708). Pole was 2:05.066. NASCAR pole would have been 17th fastest in the TA field.

What percent of the yellows was he involved in?

He hit everything but the lottery today.
