Nilton Rossoni

Superbump.

This post was the only reference to Rossoni I could find. Bet he and his dad are climbing the Google rankings now, though. :D

Rossoni was convicted in October of hauling in $717,000 from more than 5,500 eBay buyers, by creating at least 260 different auction accounts, and using dozens of e-mail addresses with Yahoo, Google and AOL, as well as nearly 60 private postal boxes.

Rossoni engineered the intricate online retail scheme with the help of his son, Nilton Joel Rossoni, 28, according to an indictment. The younger Rossoni is a former Brazilian race car driver who graduated with a business administration degree from the University of Miami in 2007. He is believed to be on the lam in his native Brazil.

And thanks to a hater friend for passing the story along.

Invoking the no bumping rule on this. Please link old threads rather than bumping.

So another in the long line of folks using not so legal means to fund their racing. As with other activities it sounds like when your habit is too expensive to fund legally it's time to quit. :)

Wow, an active thread.

Wasn't this guy vaguely connected to CART? Silly season fodder and a mediocre Lights driver?

I clearly recall the John Paul Porsches and transporters at RA during the IMSA years wondering where all the sponsor signage was! John Paul Racing, brought to you by John Paul and his merry band of smugglers and dealers.

Didn't the Whittington brothers do something similar?

Didn't the Whittington brothers do something similar?

Absolutely,

They showed up at Daytona with 3 brand new GTPs with nothing but "Whittington Bros." on the side. Driven by none other than Don, Dale, and the great Randy Lanier. They also used to land their drug planes on the back stretch of RA.

Thats why they call it "Grand Touring Pharmaceutical"
