They get a chance to crash into each other and have a punch-up next week in an ARCA test. What a wonderful thing. The world awaits. (the Autosport story also comes with "Danica Patrick Bikina Pictures". That makes sense.)

Hmmm...12th fast this morning and 5th overall by the end of the day. Out of 63 that's pretty good. Sure it's ARCA but so what. Looks like they're going about this in a very calculated thoughtful and incremental way. Smart. Unless Schumacher comes back and wins another championship we're probably watching the start of the biggest racing story of 2010, deserved or not.

Remember, Michael McDowell and Scott Speed lit everyone up when they went ARCA racing. How are they doing in Cup?;)

When Danica has to run race-long side by side AND making contact multiple times per lap, I think she will fold. I think she has no problem going fast, but racing someone will be a bit more than she is use to.

Exactly, but a 484 ci hemi might help when the call comes down! RM said so!

The Princess on her first ARCA pitstop:

"How am I going to know what my pit speed is?"

You can tell she's bored.

I've got to see how she does in Nationwide.

As they said, "she done well" today at Daytona.

No question that NASCAR is reaping the benefits of Danicamania. She sure got a lot of attention during the broadcast.

I thought she did well. But I think she should probably stick to Nationwide and if possible try a few Cup events.

If this results in her leaving the IRL, I may consider becoming a fanica. :gomer::eek:

As much as I wanted to hate her for all the attention she was getting, being Tony's "savior of the vision", etc... I actually thought she did a fair job for her 1st race. She just seems too afraid to give anyone a push. Whatever, no matter your opinion, the save she made through the grass was pretty impressive.

I did not see the race, but that is generally not one of Danica's problems.

Certainly not in the pits and paddock. One ARCA race does not a Cup career make, except in the eyes of marketing guys and NASCAR's $$$$ eyes.

I had the race on for the first 30 minutes or so. It was amusing to see the look from my wife when they said 6 women (I guess that was Danica + 5 nameless women) were in the race. It was kinda like this:  with a sarcastic comment about them making a big deal about Danica and, in particular, an IRL driver coming over while overlooking the other women.

What was even funnier was the wife's look when they said Milka Dunno was in the race too. It looked like this:

I am just glad she didn't throw anything at the TV.

she may be a bit afraid to bump draft but she had no problem side drafting/banging into ricky carmichael on the final lap to inch herself into 6th place at the finish.:thumbup:

some highlights from the arca race...
