Fiat is hoping to make a splash on their return to the US with the cutesy 500.
A few have been spotted around Detroit with manufacturer tags.
It hasn't been said how they will be sold, rumor has it that they will simply be called '500's and sold through Dodge/Chrysler dealers.

This Wednesday, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne will hold a 6 hour presentation outlining their plans for the 'new' Chrysler; "The five-year plan will cover product changes, resource adjustments and the integration of Fiat technology into Chrysler’s product line and production methods. "

Should be interesting, at least to me I guess. :)

The WSJ reported claimed to have the scoop (http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2009/10/fiat-to-gut-chrysler-lineup.html)last week. I'll be curious to see how much of this comes to pass. If so, they'll have cut out a lot of Chrysler's dead weight, but I don't see much being offered to make up for it.

Hopefully they'll get around to bringing the 500 Abarth over, if for no other reason than to puzzle the Modern Rice crowd when this little white blob blows them away at a green light. :D

Yeah, 182hp in a 2300lb car is a pretty good time. :D

While workaday end of the Alfa product line, the MiTo and Milano, will be built here and badged as Chrysler/Dodge rumor is the rest of the Alfa line will be sold in the US as well. I'd think the 159 sport wagon and the Brera would do well here.

I hope for all our sakes we see an 8C or two... sigh.
