I'm not getting 5.1 or DTS decoding through my Samsung BD-P1500 player. My receiver is processing the signal as Dolby Pro Logic. I'm running HDMI from the BD to my TV and then an optical audio from the BD to my receiver. I do the same for my Xbox 360 (HDMI into TV, optical audio into receiver) which sends DD 5.1 and DTS with no problem, so I'm assuming it is a settings issue with the BD player. I googled it and found a couple of people having similar issues but their receivers couldn't do 5.1 or DTS to begin with. I see Samsung released a new firmware (45MB!!!) this month so this weekend I'll see if that helps things. Just thought I'd post it here to see if anyone knew off hand. Yes, I need a newer receiver. It's on my list to Santa.

I suggest using a shotgun on it.

I suggest using a shotgun on it.

Considering the 3 minute load time...I've thought of that myself! :)

On my Sony there was a setting to turn off the secondary audio tracks. That cured a similar issue with mine not passing all the formats through HDMI.
