If you ever see a bottle of Bodega Numanthia Termes 2006, buy it.

Damn good red wine, a Tinta de Toro.

Nothing screams Champ Car Fan like a $28 bottle of wine. :D

Is this a fairly small producer? No hits when I search at Wine Spectator.

Drinking and I divorced a while ago but the wife raves about "2 Buck Chuck"... A line of Charles Shaw available at Trader Joe's... $2.98 a bottle. The Merlot and Chardonnay are actually pretty good... as $2 wine goes. A case works well for girl's night out playing Scrabble, doing crafts, getting Mary Kay facials, Pampered Chef parties, that sort of crap. :D

We had a bottle of Hoque reserve Merlot (2006) while dining @ Artist Point in WDW back in March. Exceptional vintage. Unfortunately their non-reserve wines are all that is available around here, and really aren't worth trying. :irked:

Yeah, the WS database search function has never worked exactly right, or at least I've not been able to find reviews I knew for a fact they had done because I had seen them in print in WS.

Everybody and their dog seems to agree that WS rates this bottle a 93 which tracks with camerman's comments. Afterall, it's not his first bottle either....:D Sounds like a deal at $24 and it might be ever better if some found it's way into Costco as sometimes happens when distribution is disrupted and a new owner wants to turn some inventory into cash in a hurry.

Dude I live in Utah, they don't sell any wine at Sam's Club.
The State Wine Store had it on sale for $26 including tax down from ~$29.

We usually don't spend that much but that stuff is very, very good, better than a lot of far more expensive wines.

Sorry, I should have explained. I generally don't drink wine (especially since SWMBO is preggers) and the only place I buy it is on impulse at Sam's. Wasn't trying to diss your recommendation. In fact, I found a current vintage of a Argentine Terrazza that I REALLY like (and haven't been able to find in years) two weekends ago that I bought that weren't a whole bunch cheaper than $26 so if I see it I'll give it a try. Thanks for the heads up!

Not a big wine drinker, but I am a huge cheapskate. The scientific method I've employed requires a WS rating of 90+ and a price < $10. Nothing awful yet. :tony:
