I got my first Bicentennial one cent today! It's the second in the series called 'Formative years in Indiana (1816-1830)'. Why do I get so excited? Dunno, just do. :D

I vaguely remember something announced last year or so but forget about it. I thought the Jefferson nickel series was cool.

Cripes. With all of the talk about doing away with the penny, I'm surprised they did this. we collected the state quarters, but somehow managed to miss a couple despite keeping track of when they were released. Didn't help that 99% of our transactions are electronic.

Got a few this morning when I picked up the morning papers. If they weren't so shiny I wouldn't have noticed them.

I like the Jefferson nickels, but when they first came out, I kept thinking they were Canadian nickels and wanted to pull them out of my coin jar.
