In Nextel Cup of course. He'll be in a Petty machine at Watkins Glen this weekend, replacing Reed Sorensen.

Just a rumor from Jayski for now.

Short lived rumor.

Jayski UPDATE 2: Jacques Villeneuve came close to a return to Sprint Cup this weekend at Watkins Glen. Villeneuve received an offer from the Richard Petty Motorsports team to replace Reed Sorensen at the wheel of the # 43 Dodge. Sorenson, injured last weekend [had not heard this] at Pocono, had agreed with his team to skip the demanding road race circuit and be back in the #43 for the remainder of the season.(translated from monvolant.cyberpresse.ca)(8-5-2009)

Really stepping up his career (http://www.touringcar.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=211:championship-news-flash&catid=1:news-category&Itemid=2):

The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires confirmed its status as Canada’s Premiere Touring Car Championship with a recent successful test by Jacques Villeneuve.

“It was wonderful to meet Jacques at one of our events earlier in the season,” stated John Bondar, President of the Championship, “and we were honoured when he returned to present trophies during our official podium ceremony.”

The morning of the test was spent changing springs and adjusting shocks to optimize balance. Jacques spent a short time getting comfortable with the characteristics of the car and then got up to speed very quickly. After about ten laps, he was able to establish a top five laptime.

“We are working on putting together a program for Jacques to compete in at least one Championship event before the end of the season,” continued John Bondar. “It will be very exciting to see Jacques competing in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires.”

Unless we're talking about L'oncle Jesus, in which case, nevermind. :gomer:
