It's on for 2010-13. The Indy starz 'n carz demselfs! Good luck finding a place to pass. April 9-10. Now that's a smart move, though.

...daily capacity at the track will be limited to 30,000 individuals to enable all spectators the opportunity to experience the race up close.

I don't think they'll have any problems.

The comments I've read say it's a great track for motorcycles.

The Koni ST race was a fun watch.

The upside is another Des Moines. Which doesn't address any of the problems of the IRL. What's next? The infield at Texas World?

It's a really nice track but it's a seriously minor market.

A minor market smack dab in the middle of Dixie. I would have been less surprised by Road Atlanta...but I guess I'll give them a few points for it not being a street race in a B market.

You could have said that about IMS 30 years ago or nearly any NASCAR track.

Ripped from Bruce Martins continually blabbering blog...

On Monday, the Governor of Alabama and the Mayor of Birmingham joined officials from Barber Motorsports Park to announce the IndyCar Series race for the road course next April. The track hopes to combine the IndyCar Series and its Grand Am weekend into one.

I knew it! IRL becomes a support race for the Grand Sham crapotypes! At least Barber & Co. are bright enough to know that opening the gates for just IRL and Craplights is a dead loss. I can here it now: "Yes, you may race on our track, but please do not bring your cars anywhere near our museum."

Maybe they can get Neil Young to sing the national anthem.
