...but what usually happens when people without guns stand up to people with guns? :(

Sometimes, a whole bunch of the former end up dead but a whole bunch of the latter end up swinging from lamp posts... We can always hope.

Would be nice if this would end up like the Velvet Revolution in the Czech Republic. But that's doubtful

Aljazeera English provides some of the footage for Worldfocus and it's just straight forward reporting from what I've seen. Their South American coverage is the currently the best in the business, which is a sad thing to have to say.

Any chance the Regular Iranian Army and the Revolutionary Guard have a difference of opinion on who is in charge?

Thousands of protesters streamed down avenues of the capital Thursday, chanting "death to the dictator" and defying security forces who fired tear gas and charged with batons, witnesses said. The first opposition foray into the streets in 11 days aimed to revive mass demonstrations that were crushed in Iran's postelection turmoil.
...
Demonstrators dispersed by nightfall. But after sunset, shouts of "death to the dictator" could be heard from rooftops around the city—a half-hour nightly ritual by Mousavi supporters that has continued even since the previous crackdown.

The media has been getting it all wrong. The riots are a virtual civil war between Chevy Camaro fans and Pontiac Firebird fans in Tehran. Pictures below of happier days when they got along and had a Camaro/Firebird club in Tehran. Now the Camaro fans are taking to the streets with chants of death to Pontiac.

How come gearheads never get to rule the world?

When I come to power all world summits will take place at BRIC and Goodwood. Camp David will be moved to Road America. The foreign policy toward F1 will be regime change until its citizens are freed from the tyranny they currently labor under.

Use the crossed hammers logo from Pink Floyd's "The Wall" as your symbol and you get my vote.

Can we get F1 at Bathurst rather than Melbourne? :)
