So?

It's all TFF!!! The iconic Champcar driver in a car entered by the iconic IRL owner. This might produce one of the finest Foyt Futility Watch threads ever.

It might be so futile that it doesn't make it past the first practice before a spirited round of fisticuffs ensues.

Sammich shoulda hired a Buddytard. :gomer:

Wasn't he on fire at some point? Could he have loosened his belts thinking he was getting out, then not gotten out?

I must say I don't know how those belts adjust.

I must say I don't know how those belts adjust.

See the below photo. The straps double back and go through a metal piece which you use to adjust the tension. When I raced we would tie shoelaces onto the tension piece to make it easier to self adjust because it is pretty hard to loosen them (or tighten them) on your own since you are unable to look down to see where the tension piece is and you have to do it basically by feel. So I doubt he loosened it himself. If he wanted to get out in a hurry he would not have loosened the straps anyways but would have flipped the handle on the camlock in the center to release all the straps at once. But it is tough to put all the straps back in the camlock unless you loosen them (particularly if you are doing it yourself), so if he did have a fire in the pits maybe he flipped the cam lock then when he went to go back out either he (or a crew member) loosened the straps to put them back in the cam lock and forgot to then tighten them (I did that a few times myself).

Interesting road trip for Tracy, Kendall and buddies ....

Imagine, if you will, travelling down a nearly deserted highway in west Texas in a motor home bigger and more expensive than most condos in downtown Toronto.

All of a sudden, while driving hell bent for leather, a tire blows on the mammoth vehicle.

It could happen only to Paul Tracy.
