That's woefull, considering there's four Japanese manufacturers involved.

Without Honda gifting company personnel and vendors with free tickets the crowd was sure to be thin. For the average race fan the problem with Motegi is that it's in the middle of nowhere and spectating isn't great because you sit too far from the track. Test tracks just don't make good race tracks because the designers never thought about where people would sit or the flow of the race. I'm surprised they had 45,000 considering how bad the economy is in Japan.

BTW, the best race on this weekend IMO was SBK race 1 as Assen. Now that is a track that flows. Spies was actually leaning on Haslam all the way trough the corner while passing him then he took Haga 3 turns from the finish. Edge of the seat stuff. Spies fell off early in race 2 and Haga disappeared into the distance.
