This could either be a thread about steaks and BBQ, jazz, and speak easies; the Chiefs (the other KC futility), or the return of DNFisher and Milk Duds to the field. Only first practice will tell.

I thought the Royals were the prime KC futility?

The Chiefs will not be futile for long!

The big buzz on KC this weekend is about trading Tony Gonzales to Atlanta and who the Chiefs will pick in the draft.

The Royals still count against Cincinnati in that department. ;)

The way they kept carrying on about the wind conditions today, I half expected a car to get airborne. Right result, wrong series. (http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/cup/news/story?id=4102874)

They've taken their street race product to the ovals. Back markers crash blah blah blah.

At least the IRL of old manufactured eggciting "side by side" oval racing the way God intended with crashes seen from space. :gomer:

Now they try to be Champ Car (paddle shifting and Jon Beekhuis) but still have cars that my grandmother can drive.

The contrast between the F1 race and the IRL was comical. Everything the IRL touches turns Gomerific. Tony George is the King Midas in reverse.

Oh, and I forgot to add...someone PLEASE shove a dirty sock in Robbie's mouth! I never thought there was anyone possibly worse than Goodyear...well, as typical of the IRL...they found him.

I've never witnessed a race where it was easier for the cars to go 'backward' instead of forward.

The Real Earnhardt had the best idea. When plates were first proposed he said "we're supposed to go fast, build higher walls so we can go 250" or something like that. It was a classic Dale interview :D

It's ironic, on the Fox pre-race show they did a segment with Carl in a stunt plane doing some aerial stunts. Turns out Carl is an accomplished pilot.

Given the mindset:saywhat:

But Keselowski defended the style of racing that produced the crash -- even if it did seem a bit insensitive.

"There has to be some element of danger into it. No different than a football player," Keselowski said. "Who doesn't like watching football players hit each other head-on as fast as they can? I think that's how John Madden made his career, saying, 'Boom.' That's what the fans want. They want contact.

"If we would have run all race without a single lap of contact, everyone in the media center would have wrote about how boring of a race it was, and instead we ran one of the best races you could ever watch on TV with full contact the whole time. Thankfully, no one did get seriously injured, and I do want to emphasize that -- I'm thankful for that.

"I don't want to wreck anyone, but to say a no-contact sport is fun, I don't buy that. These guys want to see contact just as much as I want to give it and take it."

"This is crazy racing, it really is. We can try and legitimise as much as we'd like but it's insanity on four wheels.

Ah yes, the reverse Midas Touch. I like to call it the fecal touch because everything he touches turns to.....

Interesting thread combining two race series. Don't see that too often.:) Makes it difficult to come up with a score for an OC F-1 vs. IRL tally! Looks like the IRL wins again, about 16-7?

Ouch. The word stunt is a media lunacy word. Aviation hates that word. It's an aerobatic plane and he was performing aerobatics. This media stupid word "stunt" fits this thread though. I guess you could call the IRL on ovals and Talladega "stunts". Ah well, two more oval races and more long evening naps for me the past two nites.
