An official of F1's governing body FIA on Thursday had a high speed crash at the wheel of a contemporary Grand Prix car.

On the occasion of Renault's 'roadshow' event in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates' automobile club President Mohammed bin Sulayem - also FIA Vice President for sport - shunted last year's R28.

Considering how much trouble Hammonds had keeping enough heat in the brakes and tires I don't think being 14 time Middle East rally champion necessarily qualifies you to casually jump into an F1 machine.

I couldn't tell. Did he also take out the Ford GT?

That Top Gear clip is my fave of all time. :thumbup:

Looked like the GT had a driver in it, so it was able to avoid the car that didn't. ;)

You'd think they would crank up the traction control for runs like that. Or, maybe they did, and he's just that much of a wanker. I bet the two seater is sounding like a better investment right about now.
