(I already posted this to TF, but it's relevant here... )

With the ICS going back to (presumably) an I-4 turbo. I found and scanned into a PDF this great 1975 article from one of my old Hot Rod magazines in the attic. It goes into great detail of the programs being used at the time for the Offy, Ford and Chevy turbo Indy engines.

The big takeway from this article is just how much work Dick Jones (Camking's Dad) put into making the turbo Offy work. Wow! IMHO his work with the Offy is a BIG reason that the turbo engine would go on to be associated with Indy for the following decades, instead of the 4.2L NA. Kudos!

Also good stuff on the Ford engine of the time, as well as Smokey Yunick working on the Chevy turbo for Indy.

Only time I ever go to Trackforum is when somebody links it, but I did stumble upon that post.

Great article!

Dick Jone's accomplishment vary upon which camp you listen to.

It's not like Herb Porter, Carl Cinderic or John Miller were standing around for smoke to come out of the chimney.
