A message was left on our home phone this afternoon that was barely understandable. It was a computer voice indicating that our ATM card had been deactivated. If we wished to activate it, press 1. OK, I figured it was bogus but called my bank just to be sure. My card is fine. This is a new twist on phishing. It isn't any different than a fraudulent email from a bank asking for account information. I suspect if someone gets this call and enters 1, the computer voice would instruct the person to enter their card number and then their PIN. At that point, an identical card could be produced and the fun begins. I'll bet this one will hook some people into providing the information requested.

Just a FYI. Don't fall for this scam.

I think this the scam where if you press 1 then your phone account is charged big dollars for the call.
