DOUBLE world champion Fernando Alonso will stick with Renault next season, alongside Brazilian Nelson Piquet.

I glad Piquet gets another year. :)

Smart decision on FA's part. If he's still in this game to win, Honda isn't going to do it for him in '09 at least.

He will win in 2009.

Thank God... I'm not a Fred fan, but it would be beyond painful to watch another talent flushed down the toilet by the SUCK that is the Honda team.....

Pequot the Lesser must include a lot of zeros on the check he writes.

The ITV broadcast of Brazil said something about Honda stopping work on this years car early in the year to concentrate on next year's car, because this years car was so bad nothing could save it.

Not that that means that next year's car won't suck as well, just that there is a reason this year's car sucked so much towards the end of the year. :gomer:

I read early in the season that they had pretty much written off this year's car and were putting resources to developing the 09 car. Efforts this year were to reign things in and remove much of the variation there both in terms of car and team practices.

So Honda is a year ahead from a car two years behind which will make them a year behind...next year. :gomer:

I'm glad he's staying at Renault. It would've sucked to see talent wasted in a Honda seat.

I think Renault's favorite thing about Piquet is how big a market Brazil is for them.

Your response would almost imply that it DIDN'T suck earlier in the year, but I believe the level of suck has stayed constant throughout the year, from day 1! :D

Edit: to think Button wanted to stay with Honda over Williams.

Yep, and why go quietly when you can shoot your mouth off and make certain everyone knows what a spoiled little twit with a sense of entitlement you are. :D

I'm assuming he doesn't realize what the connection was that got him the seat at Renault in the first place. Smart move whining about being treated like the #2 driver.
