At twenty minutes before eight, central time, Professor Farrell of the Mount Jennings Observatory, Chicago, Illinois, reports observing several explosions of incandescent gas, occurring at regular intervals on the planet Mars. The spectroscope indicates the gas to be hydrogen and moving towards the earth with enormous velocity. Professor Pierson of the Observatory at Princeton confirms Farrell's observation, and describes the phenomenon as (quote) like a jet of blue flame shot from a gun (unquote).

Well, many of us did a few short weeks ago while it was a tad breezy here. I'll bet yer sorry you missed it. ;) Sadly, my lil' b&w TeeVee won't work after next February. :( Oh well, there's always the nut jobs on 610 for 'entertainment'. :gomer:

Actually, for me its a Firestone Air Chief. It sits about 10 feet from me and looks sort of like this one, only more ornate.

There's no coax adapter. Just a couple of posts to attach an external antenna via those little U connectors. Sucks because the lil' bugger has been very helpful during several power outages. :(

Funny but I've listed to that complete broadcast twice during my adult life. Listening to it without interruption from beginning to end, knowing it was a hoax from decades ago, I still could not help get caught up in it--even the second time years after the first time I heard it. One of the best dramatic pieces--EVAH.

There's actually a touring company performing that. I know it was in Europe and I believe Australia. No idea if its coming to the States.

By the way, this radio show which talks about and has parts of the War of the Worlds is pretty good. It also talks about 2 subsequent radio show that used the same premise and amazingly people bought both of them.

Richard, look what I found. I think Jeff Wayne originally did this 30 years ago, a very ambitious project. I would love to see this production.
