He was never my favorite actor or comedian, but a fellow Chicagoian, and always seemed like a class act to me, and enjoyable in the "Ocean's" movies. Gone at 50.

I know it's just writing, but his views on raising kids (on the Bernie Mac show) were pretty much spot-on. He represented the flyover states well.
