So i went out and got a smartphone (because everyone else in the office has one), and it's kinda nice and stuff to have, you know, with the email and interwebs and such, so you know, that's fun and stuff.

Now the phone that I got was the motorola q global for at&t (Q9h). it runs windows mobile 6.1, and it comes with gps. apparently a subscription to something called "telenav" is available for $10-/ month, but i keep hearing about free "end-arounds" to that using google earth or windows live maps or something like that for turn-by turn directions. anyone know about this, and what might i need to do to use this? download a program or somthing? iduno.

just download google maps for the phone. i have the q9c and it works ok-ish. not great for turn by turn directions as you drive like an in car gps, but as good as going on google maps for directions and printing them out prior to your trip.
