Granted, it's just first practice, but half-second up on the field? Welcome back, Gil

They are running the outer track this year. That gets rid of a dozen or so turns:eek: It also gets rid of just about all of the slower turns.
Guess I'm going to make the race after all. The wife just about ordered me to go on Sunday:D
Damned if it ain't going to be over 90°F....
Oh yeah the "short" version of that track is 3.08 miles.

Surprised the Audis didn't pull further ahead of the P2 cars on the longer course

Too bloody hot for the kiddo to last the whole race. I'll watch the tape cause you can't keep track of an ALMS race and a 3.5 year old at the same time.
Leave it to Larry Miller to close off a huge section of GA lawn for the race. You had to have a grandstand ticket to get to some of the best lawn seats:flame:

Our Simon Pagenaud was looking good out there.
Once again, why 2 LMP classes? P2s finish 1-6 overall on a fast track? Fastest cars forced to stop more often? Whats the point of developing a better fuel/power/speed technology if you get penalized for it? Say, how'd the Corvettes do? Maybe when Toyota buys GM they'll do a twin turbo P1 car!

It was an excellent tire test. They are very happy.
