Road America to host runoffs (http://automotive.speedtv.com/article/scca-runoffs-moving-to-road-america-in-2009/) starting in 2009.

Great, with the loss of revenue from losing the Runoffs, HPT can start searching for more ways to gouge autocrossers in
September.

Guess they could move the autocross back to Salina where it lived happily for years.

Perfect timing! I'm moving to Sheboygan, and the Runoffs are too!

Dude, the decision to move it to Heartland was such a f-in' mistake. That track just stinks, according to everything I have heard. Road America is so much more appropriate. I will try to attend the first year.

They're moving them from Oct. to Sept. for RA.

"The date for the 2009 event has yet to be finalized, although it will move from October to September."

This is great!

Auto-x is getting booted from HPT too; track owner sez we do nothing for them. According to the article I read which I'm too lazy to read, autocross is unheard of but also important, and 235 (hah, try 1,100) weekend driversshowed up to race their Miatas and Minis.

Oh well, HPT sucked for autocross, too.

Well move back to Forbes or back to Salina. Both were much better than HPT for the Solo Nationals.

I never got to run at Forbes, and I don't even think I was 10 years old when they ran at Salinas.

Aside from the roughness, I heard good things about Forbes. Driving on concrete is awesome because there is so much grip that you feel like a better driver than you actually are.

Concrete is indeed fun.
Salina was so full of tradition for as many years as it was there. The whole city got behind it, just a tremendous amount of fun.
I'm not sure, because of development around the runways if it would still be a possibility.
Last time I was out there was for another kind of solo.
Steve Fossett's solo flight landing. :)

Lemme guess...

They'll use the motorcycle chicane at The Kink, and charge the workers $100 per day for camping.

Who knows, anything is possible.

Such as combining FAtlantic and F1000 (FB). :shakehead

Well, if you don't like that, you can always buy an S2 and run that in CSR. :saywhat:

At least Pro Racing has usually just been incompetent. The overall leadership has almost been malicious.
