Great shots, but they don't give the scale justice.

In the 90s I was part of a team that provided problem solving and risk management training to Rockwell and NASA employees at the Cape. These were the folks who actually processed the shuttle and the goal was to reduce turnaround times. I actually got to sit in the pilot's seat of the Columbia while it was being assembled.

What is stunning is the shear size of everything and that anything that large could fly 25,000 mph into orbit.
