And I thought the hockey stuff on the SAS Wiki was hysterical. I never thought to look for racing stuff.

We're relevant in other months and not just May, honest! The IRL, currently a feeder league to NASCAR, was formed in 1994 by King Tony George who decided to take his racetrack and stay home. Initially, the series didn't do too well as everyone was still in what is now Champ Car. The f***** then scored a couple wins by getting other f*****s Chip Ganassi and Roger Penske to come over to the darkside, thus starting the regime that is the IRL.

Super Aguri

Joke Formula One team whose drivers appear to have prepared themselves for their debut season by playing Carmageddon a lot. May also compete in IRL.

For 2007, Super Aguri's drivers handed over rolling chicane duty to Spyker.

Fernando Alonso

Spanish Formula One driver.

Whines a lot.

Not as Good as Lewis Hamilton

Ironically, people whose own sense of morality is somewhere on the level between insects and reptiles are attracted to NASCAR for the black and white morality it offers.

On Bourdais:

Sebastien Bourdais drives the #1 McDonald's car in the Champ Car World Series, and if you can't tell by the picture, he is also a total douche.

Bill Lester:

If anyone ever tries to tell you that NASCAR is racist, you can cut them off at the nuts by pulling Bill Lester's picture out and telling them forcefully-

"Not true. This guy runs part-time in the Truck Series."

Wendell Scott:

I like to think of Jesus like a dirty old bum. He's comin' up to me, and I'm 'bout to sock him cause, you know, he's a dirty old bum, but then I say, "Wait a minute, there's something... I don't know, special about this guy."

That site is brilliant!!

The section on cricket is hysterical..."Only ten nations are recognized by the International Cricket Council as Test-playing nations. These are supposedly the nations that have devoted the proper resources and talent to the game. The ICC makes FIFA look like a well-oiled, efficient machine."

Wow. I never saw a picture of Wendell Scott before. Hardly looks like a person of color. Looks to me as if he could have "passed" (I mean off the track). Not that is matters.

But it says a lot about the old (new?) South that it mattered to them.

As I recall be had blue eyes. If you ever get a chance to see the movie "Greased Lighting" it's a fine b-movie of his life. If also features a family friend blowing the his engine down the backstretch at Milwaukee. I always look forward to that part.

He's from not too far from my hometown, and well into his 60s used to make occasional appearances at the fleabag little shorttrack my dad dragged me to every week. I remember thinking that some of the "white" guys at the track were darker than he was. A few of the "regulars" got bent out of shape when he showed up, then got even more bent out of shape when they got beat by a 60 year old man who hadn't driven in a year.
