If its true would you really blame him? Champcar has nothing, just highlights for TV at least the Dark Side has the 500 .. please put Champcar out of its misery already.

I flipped thru all the indy channels on the 11pm and saw nothing. :irked:

But i just got word from another reliable source that walker is in fact gone. I was also told sometime ago that Gore said he HAD to have Indy to legitimize his sponsorship $$$$$ or he was gone. Tony Cotman was for it - leaving May open - but when the dynamic duo of SJ & PG didn;t leave May open for teams to run one offs at Indy, then Walker called fTG and took the deal.

I don;t blame him one bit, and I know exactly who i blame for this and it ain;t KK.

If so, then he either lied to the Star or Toni wired him some Yen from Japan in record time.

Derrick Walker's Champ Car team didn't participate at Sebring as it worked through sponsorship issues, but Walker said he remains committed to the series.
Walker said he has talked to the IRL about fielding a program there, too, but at the moment he doesn't have funding for it.
"I'm in the business of racing; I'm non-political," he said. "If I can get the sponsors, I'll be in both series. But we really need to have one (series). I'm sure we will before long; we have to."http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080208/SPORTS01/802080467/-1/LOCAL17

You mean somebody in racing lied? NO WAY!

Hey, I like DW and we need more guys like him in racing, but we shall see what is happening here in the next week.

I think Gore is going cabbin' with Ambrose. With Gore it's all about the ROI.

O/T I heard somewhere he's selling his V8 supercer licences. Might be getting out of motor racing completely.

I do not blame him either. That guy has been a strong cc supporter but if you can't get sponsors there's not a whole lot you can do.

He could've got the money, or made a deal to get it on Friday or Saturday and not lied. :D

Chassis doesn't necessarily equal funding
