...and comes up with these (http://www.americanlemans.com/News/Article.aspx?ID=3921). Quite a looker, but I can't help wondering why they chose Rathole, of all people, to develop the cars.

BMW factory drivers are tapped to do the development driving, so one would assume BMW will take on the bulk. Still, Rahal is a puzzling choice for any role, unless BMW has too much sponsorship lined up and needs to scare some away. I can think of at least 2 currently-active outfits that would be a much better choice for a US-targeted BMW GT project.

One of these days I'll learn to stop thinking.

Probably because Rahal has an existing GT2 operation in ALMS and a top notch facility in Hilliard that is really underutilized. The Hilliard shop is also very close to a decent road course for testing.

His ownership of a BMW franchise in Pennsylvania probably didn't hurt things either:
