WR returns to LeMans in 2008 with their own P2 powered by an AER 3.4l V8.
Too bad they, in all likelihood, won't be coming over here to play.

Gerald Welter does not hide his contentment and motivation: ‘’The team did a fantastic job over the new car and the Salini group allowed us great opportunities where needed"

From a technical point of view, we can expect a subtle mix of real innovations and old tested solutions: the WR LMP 2008 will be powered by a Zytek 3,4 liters V8 engine equipped with a 6 speed Ricardo gearbox and an EGS powershift system. A powerful and reliable package to fit the all new chassis and aero.

The car and its drivers, already selected, will be officially launched [this] January.

Anybody recognize where that banking might be? Montlhéry? or some manufacturer's test track?

That is a beautiful car! Looks like a test track to me.

I just saw that the Peugeot is testing at Sebring. Another nice looker:

^ No, but they might do the big 2.

As for the WR, they've never shied away from wacky stuff. :saywhat:

Never know, they've run Sebring before. A lot of teams are likely to be excluded from the LMS this year, and with the exchange rate so favorable for Euro teams...

That car is pure poetry compared to some of their past efforts.

God that is ugly! I'd even say DP prototype ugly.

Looks like an angry platypus. Is this team French; I can't tell, what with the paint job and all...

Actually, it looks like a really wide single seater with wheel covers. Here's an idea - with all the press concerning space tourism, why can't a team rent out that extra seat to some adventure seeking rich guy so that they can ride along during the race. What would you pay to do a stint in the passenger seat at Le Mans?

A lot. I'd happily pay to be a "riding mechanic". New revenue source and they could leave out some ballast.

How about all two-seat F1? How much would a ride behind Louis Hamilton or Kimi Raikkonen go for? I would think you could get at least 500k for something like that. What could you get if you sold a ride in one of the big races near the end of the season, when the championship is on the line? Ballast each car to account for passenger weight, then start filling orders.
