Team co-owner Jimmy Vasser added: "We believe that having Oriol compete for the team provides us with the best opportunity to continue developing a championship-calibre programme.

"Oriol, who is not only one of the most experienced and best drivers in the series, but also a good friend, gives us the best chance to contend for the championship."

Wow.

Signed.

Doesn't appear to be a ride buy.

He's getting paid (presumably)

Its 3 Jan.

He's actually a known quantity and good

He can mentor a younger driver (Matos?)

This doesn't appear to f'd up in the least.

First new post on the CC board in a week.

What a waste of a seat. Been around as long as white dog poop. "Wins" a race because Glock got blacked flagged for what Bourdais does every race. What has he accomplised? Other than 'winning' the Indy Lights title with no race wins? Give the seat to someone like Hinchcliff, Matos or even Sean O'.

Please, someone tell me why this guy should have this ride. I don't give a flying poop about 'continuity'. Please keep it to his on-track accomplishments.

 Good news for a change! He seems to be consistently near the front and can probably contribute a lot in helping to set-up a car, especially if his team mate is a rookie.

Because he can actually f##king drive. this is in sharp contrast to most of the aholes in champcar whose talent is check writing.

While Glock was blocking at times, the blag flag was actually for jumping the curbing and short cutting the course to stay in front of the faster Servia car.

Or until a race promoter requires a local driver.

Oriol has always been fun to watch. He's fast and has a great attitude. I think he deserves a seat as much as anyone.
