Sounds good, one of my favourites.

Does this mean ChampCar is extended through 2012 as well? ;)

151,426 for three days? That's pretty impressive. The Indians didn't even draw that much to their three ALCS games, and they have way more seating available.

Sean'O were not going to make this an attendence thread are we? ;)

last summer the race made a significant attendance turnaround with a 31 percent increase for the weekend event

I don't know about 31% increase or 151K, but compared to where the race was just a few years ago it is doing far, far better. 2004 was rock bottom I believe (the year after the night race)

I wonder what the city has to approve besides use of the airport and parking lots. Do they pitch in cash or just police and fire support? What are they doing due diligence on?

What are they doing due diligence on?

Nothing - my take is that the politian in question felt he had to say something that made it look like he handles his job seriously, so that is what he said.

This issue in the past has never been getting the city to ink a deal but the FAA to go along with it.
