I take it the writer correctly placed blame for bad management and working conditions on the management... not every employee in the business.

Hope his new job works out. I doubt he'll be coming back. :D

It must suck to work for a company like that.

Not for me. Fixing that dysfunction pays my mortgage. :D

Guilty.

And just like them I almost always find that the folks actually doing the work know best how to do it and management is seriously f'd up.

I started a new job yesterday. (big mistake) I am a mobile tech but have my own winxp (yuck) workstaion in the office. One of the first things I did was install firefox. I was chastised with "you really should use what out clients use"

I was startled, and had no comeback. That afternoon I was dispatched to a customer who's 3 month old laptop is so riddled with nasties that right now format and reinstall is the only option. I really want to tell them that maybe our clients should use what I use.

I have a funny feeling I am not going to last there very long.

  Sounds like you've got it figured out on all counts. Should you actually begin another week there, perhaps you could hazard a comment about other browsers being superior for virus fighting. Tell them even TRAVELGAL uses it and she still writes with a quill pen.

I have worked directly with a number of ‘Lumberghs’ and have seen dozens of others. Kinda weird considering the popularity of the movie.

I'd like to move us right to Sean Malone. We had a chance to meet this young man, and boy that's just a straight shooter with upper management written all over him.

If I had a million dollars what would I do with my time?

Race car driver, factory motorcycle test rider or movie star.

Anyone know how I can be one of those?

thanks in advance!

Um, yeah, I'm going to have to go ahead and sort of disagree with you there. He's been real flaky lately and I'm not sure that he's the caliber person you want for upper management. He's been having some problems with his smacktalking.

Anyone remember that episode of Friends where Joey and Chandler were doing a marathon of pr0n watching and discovered that a person actual can tire from such an activity?

I'm not there yet. :)

The correct answer to this question is "I'll tell you what I'd do, man. Two chicks at the same time, man."
