Some of the testimonials are pretty...interesting

"Thank God for your site! Our daughter was really nervous walking down the aisle, but she seems okay now and the money we got let us keep our farm and even add on a few acres."

“Our 15 year old daughter Mary wasn’t very popular and did nothing but mope around the house bringing everybody down, so we decided to marry her off through your site. Now our house is a lot cheerier and we love our new swimming pool and Jaccuzi! We’ve told our youngest that when she turns 15 we’re going to marry her off too!"

Not to hijack but my wife just asked "how many women have you slept with in our 25 years of marriage?" Naturally I said "none, dear?" and she asked "how many women did you sleep with before we were married?" and I said "none dear, I stayed awake all night with them. ;) "

Think I might head over to the site about now. :)

Seriously, it's a bit freaky isn't it?

Don't ask questions when you don't really want to know the answer.

Seriously though - the shame of this is that we aren't 100% sure if it is real or bogus...

They claim it is a "Biblical tradition" to arrange marriages but I don't see where the money part comes from. That seems to be the motivation.

Can 15 year olds get married?

Can 15 year olds get married? If this is for real, it's broke, crazy a-holes selling their daughters to solve cash flow problems and using religion to justify it. :yuck:

Maybe not. But 16 year-olds can. I'm picking Samantha up at the Greyhound station on Tuesday. Assuming she can get the grass mowed, the horses fed, the dog groomed and the oil changed in the cars by Saturday, we is gonna tie the knot.

And once I found out that she could pull a plow and win me some money in bar room cussin' contests, that $8995 was a pure bargain - I bet she can have me paid back before the end of the year.

Between this and Fatchicksinpartyhats.com... Spicoli, how the hell do you find these sites?!

Do assume that saving the family farm for future generations isn't part of the Biblical tradition. ;)

According to this http://usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/teen_marriage_laws/index.shtml marriage age varies by state but 18 seems to be the norm, 16-17 is possible with parents permission, 15 and maybe even younger is possible in some states with permission from a judge. Some allowances are possible for women (girls?) pregnant and/or with children.

Given that, I think this site is a hoax.

Interesting that in most states you'd become a registered sex offender for touching girls under 16-18... unless you marry them.

West Virginia at its finest: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/10/woman.tortured/index.html

holy balls...

The Brewster family and their trailer has a history of violent crime, the police said.

Mr. Brewster killed his stepfather there when he was 12, the authorities said, and served time at a juvenile correction facility.

In July 1994, Mrs. Brewster shot and killed an 84-year-old woman she was looking after, also in the trailer, according to court records.

Mrs. Brewster, who was charged with first-degree murder, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and served six years at a state correctional facility. She was paroled in 2000.

In 2005, two men got into a fight outside the trailer, the police said, ending with a fatal stabbing.

In January, the police were again called to the trailer, where they found a man who had been slashed across his abdomen; the man survived, according to court documents, and Mr. Brewster was a witness in that case.
