The Leonard Leap was a regular happening during his Rutgers years. I also remember the critics saying he better not try that in the NFL.

I think you Rams fans are really going to like him. Remarkable athlete, teammate and person.

He makes a nice target while in the air. Only a matter of time until he goes to the hospital.

Now there goes another critic predicting doom for the Leaper. ;)

Cheezy but a good highlight reel.

The scary thing is he can destroy a tackler as he did against Pitt at 0:40 or leap and the run away from the entire defense as he did against Illinois at 1:02

Of course the best was the leap against Lousiville at 2:09 because it happened in the most important college football game played in NJ since 1869.

The thing too is he is a suffocating blocker (see 3:46 against USF). Great inside runner with the speed to make the corner. He was the top rated fullback in the draft and he didn't play fullback until last year when without a peep he happily made room for Ray Rice. And I've never seen him drop a pass. Not even bobble one.

As for getting hurt, as someone that played for 29 years, I know getting hit in the air is usually a hell of alot better than getting hit in the knee/leg when your foot is firmly planted. Airborn shots look bad, but aside from the landing, unless you land on your head/neck, it usually is better than your average slobberknocker.

I can't believe the Giants had the pick before St Louis and passed. Idiots
