I guess this is the "crown jewel" in the cabinet for now.

I didn't want to crack it open with my brother-in-law around. Bringing it to a drunkfest would be crazy. Besides, y'all would probably want to mix it with Coke or something. :D

Some critics are not impressed:

"but I’m really disappointed in this product. I’m reminded of corn whiskey that has spent too many years in a barrel. Too much wood, some of it dry rotted from the outside in, has been imparted to this spirit. The result is a muddy blended whiskey lacking distinct layers of flavor.

You’d be hard pressed to get $10 a fifth for that kind of swill in Kentucky."

I don't care for rye based whiskeys myself but that doesn't mean that there aren't some great ones, just that I'm not the one to ask about them.

Please tell me that picture isn't of the packaging plant. A rusted-out conveyor propped up with a cinder block on a piece of plywood?

It's called a "microbrewery" ;)

They just moved from the basement of a bakery right off the Blanco town square to a new brewery building on the edge of town now (re: 5 blocks away)

Public hunting in Texas is almost non-existant.

Can't find anything good to drink up there? Can't find a Spec's up there?

my county might have more public acreage than the entirety of the tx state parks east of the Pecos

Can't find anything good to drink up there? Can't find a Spec's up there? microbrew valhalla, but most of the pales are too damn hoppy compared to the Pale Rye and Rio Blanco, and nothing close to the style of Fireman's or Lawnmower.

also, the Pierre Celis collaboration w/ RA fell through b/c of MADD's, excuse me, TABC's contract brewing regs.

Sounds like a great problem to have. Time to sack up and learn to love the flower.

hops are great, but everything doesn't need to be hopped to the point of becoming an IPA.

Daddy leaves for home and a nice bottle of whiskey is waiting for him on the other side of the rainbow (can't have ice in any beverages here, just Kingfishers...not so bad).

BTW, Bangalore traffic is insane in the membrane. Words fail to describe it, yo.
