.... Is the Devil!

Anywho .. Lookin for my Seahawks to have a great season, as long as they can stay healthy.

A lot of new faces on Defense, but some very good additions that will make a difference for our run defense (or lack thereof last season).

Offense is getting finely tuned, and only real concern is having 35 year old Marcus Pollard as our starting TE. Hasselbeck and crew are looking sharp in mini-camp.

Go Hawks!

I'm not playing any fantasy football this season, so I think I'll probably actually enjoy the games a lot more than I did the last five years. You know, rooting against the Patriots because I dislike them, instead of hoping they'll lose but Maroney will have 200 yards...

So, we all agree that it's Colts at Broncos for the AFC title, yes? :)

Has anyone looked at the strength of schedule going into the season? No NFC team has a harder schedule than an AFC team. Only one team (Detroit) has a strength of schedule (.504) as difficult as an AFC Team (Houston, Denver and San Diego). Every other NFC team is at .500 or lower.

To summarize:
>= 0.504 Entire AFC
0.504 Detroit
<= 0.500 Rest of the NFC

The NFC really needs some quarterbacks.

One of the Bills was arrested a few weeks ago for getting into a scuffle with a cop outside a nightclub. Bad, but semi-forgiveable. Then the doof gets suspended under the substance abuse policy, which is unrelated to this recent arrest. Jauron and Levy want nothing more than to cut the guy, but they can't because the depth chart took a hit on Friday when one of our defensive backups broke his foot on the opening kickoff!

In other football related news, CNN's reporting that Vick's being offered 18-36 months in federal prison. Vick's crew is waiting to hear from the NFL about his football future before taking any deals.

I am a Cleveland Browns fan. Needless to say, this is always problematic. Now, however, we have a full-blown cluster-*&%# at QB. Frye and Anderson were gawd-awful Sat, as was the entire 1st team offense. Against 3rd and 4th teamers, Quinn looks great, and now we have an awful QB connundrum.

I think Eli wouldn't look so spaced out all the time if he wasn't a mouthbreather. Close the mouth and he looks about 20 IQ points smarter.

He's really not a bad QB, but just when he really looks like he's going to get it rolling, he makes a terrible mistake.

I wouldn't say he injured his knee. Wilfork took a cheap shot. I don't know if he dove down there or was blocked down there, but he didn't need to raise his elbow into him. He should get a pretty stiff fine for it. I'm glad it wasn't a season ender. Pos's broken arm looked bad. Just like Seau's last year. Looked like both bones were snapped.

"So the Rams are taking the field today with a quarterback with broken ribs and a white starting running back. I don't think the Elias sporting bureau has official stats on such things, but I'm willing to bet that the all-time record of teams with white running backs and QBs with broken ribs is well below .500."

Well the closest thing I can relate it to is the 2004 model of Colts, when Peyton had the 49 TDs and if we didn't get 40 on Sunday everyone in town was whispering about "what's wrong".

That year, the Colts played Detroit on Thanksgiving and Manning threw six TDs, and I can honestly say everyone in the entire state saw it coming. Detroit was bad, Freeney was sack-crazy, and Stokely was insane in the slot... but there just wasn't a whole lot of whooping and hollering after that win because, well... we were SUPPOSED to do that.

Hope it ends the same for you guys as it did for us that year. ;)

WRONG GAME, WRONG TIME. From Nick of Houston: "It would be criminal for CBS to show the Texans-Raiders game over Patriots-Colts for those of us in the Houston area. Who do I need to contact at CBS to try and petition them to not show the Texans game this week?"

I will give you this advice, and I think you should take it. Call the NFL in New York and ask to register a complaint over not being able to see this game. If you do not raise your voice, no one will hear it. And it is certainly a valid complaint.

I'm glad the Pats won so that I could say that officiating was terrible.

- They messed up the coin toss.
- They had TWO referees staring at Moorehead and neither one saw his foot land out of bounds.
- Pass Interference on Asante Samuel on a ball that was uncatchable that they both dove for.
- Pass Interference on Ellis Hobbs (he'll get another apology).
- Non-Call Pass Interference on Kevin Faulk (clearly grabbed).
- Non-Call Pass Interference on Randy Moss (the defender held his arm in the end zone).
- Pass Interference on Bethea (declined, but it sure didn't seem like he did anything to Moss).
- Offensive Pass Interference on Randy Moss (he didn't touch the guy).

As a Pats fan, I'm more likely to recall NE getting the short end of the stick, so feel free to weigh in on the Colts getting screwed over by the refs too. I'm not big of conspiracy theories. I just think the crew sucked and the Pats bore the brunt of it and am happy they won despite it.

Edit--And finally a game to get into! Lived up to the hype.

maybe 4-5, the difference of course being brandon jones dropping a pass in the final seconds vs. Indy that would've resulted in a short Bironas kick for the win. Bironas being a pretty good kicker and all...

his completion %age is on par with the majority of starting qbs out there, low 60's. he's a 2nd year starter on a team w/ no skill position talent, in what everyone's been calling the toughest division in football this season. you and coward sure are proving a great point. :gomer:

6-3, Donkies, Kittens, Texags, KC, Jets all winnable. Indy is possible too, all 3 Colts games (including his first ever start last year) and Titans are 1-2, both loses coming on the final drive.

Playoffs are possible and maybe likely, which isn't bad for a team which was to win 8 games if completely lucky this season.

Beginning my journey north this morning to Portland, then to Seattle on sunday for the Seahawks/Bears matchup.

Should be a game the Hawks can get a victory from, as long as we keep Grossman from doing anything, and keeping the ball away from Hester if we can.

Big question of the week is, do we kick to Hester, try to kick out of end zone (which Josh is always capable of doing), or squib-kick it.

The Bears seem to be experiencing the same syndrome the Bengals have this year, in that there is no consistency on either side of the ball.

My prediction

Seahawks 37
Bears 17

Rumors are Alex Smith will be benched for the rest of the year. Not for his injured shoulder, but because he complained to the media about playing before he was 100%. He complained after they lost the game, not before when the coaches asked if he was ready.

Dilfer to the rescue! :p

Let the SF QB shuffle continue! The #1 pick can only get higher for the Patriots. :D

Yes. JP's been known to play a halfway decent game or two now and then. But if the JP that played Q1-Q3 of the game against Miami shows up, its going to be a long night.

I was right. It was a long night.

But on the plus side, football in HD (heck any sport in HD) is a beautiful thing.
