The Seahawks today remind me a lot of the 49er teams in his coaching era, as Holmgren still for the most part, uses the same type of system that he was part of when he was an assistant coach with Bill Walsh.

RIP, Coach. :( Hated losing to your 9ers twice in the Super Bowl, but all the respect in the world for how your teams played and you coached. :thumbup:

The Walsh coaching family tree is amazing. So many coaches "decended" from his staff. Holmgren, Siefert, Mariucci, Wyche, Smith, so many more.

Only Parcells comes close, and while Parcells' and his crew generally beat Walsh, it was through really tough smart defense, not offensive innovation.

The WCO and Walsh all descended from Paul Brown. :) Also add Brian Billick to that tree.
